FishWithMe.Net to grow with Salmo Group

THINKER NEWS – Fishwithme.net memberships will be offered along with Lucky John and Norfin products as the Salmo Group expands into the North American market.

Based in Latvia, the Salmo Group announced in May that it was bringing its Lucky John line of fishing lures, tackle and equipment, as well as its Norfin line of fishing, hunting and outdoors apparel to selected markets in North America in late 2016.

Founded in 1988, the Salmo Group has developed five brands available in 25 countries in Europe and Asia.

FishWithMe.net was started in Rockford, Illinois, in 2014 by Rock Valley College business professor and avid fisherman Stacy McCaskill. It’s the only web-based network that helps everyday anglers find fishing buddies to share costs and to learn and share tips and techniques.

The FishWithMe.net parternship with Salmo Group means memberships will be offered along with Lucky John and Norfin brands at small and large bait and tackle shops in the United States and Canada. At brick-and-mortar retail stores, an annual fishwithme.net membership sells for $30.60 and a holiday membership costs $12.47. Proceeds are split 50/50 with the retail partners.

The eventual goal of FishWithMe.net is essentially to become the Match.com of the recreational fishing industry. More than 60 million people fish at least once a year, according to the American Sportfishing Association, only running and biking have more participants. Those fishermen spend nearly $50 billion per year on fishing equipment, transportation, lodging and other expenses.
