MetLife Auto & Home teams up with NonProfitTHRIVE

Providing Freeport Employees a Platform to Match Volunteers with Opportunities and Further Support the Local Community

FREEPORT, Illinois (July 19, 2018) MetLife Auto & Home, one of the nation’s leading personal-lines insurance groups, has teamed up with NonProfitTHRIVE, an organization that runs a platform designed to match volunteers with nonprofits and track volunteer hours. In an effort to continue to boost its support of the community and employee volunteerism, MetLife is using the THRIVE platform to pilot a program matching Freeport-based team members to volunteer opportunities with local nonprofit agencies.

“A platform such as NonProfitTHRIVE.com is a benefit to everyone in the community,” said Carol Anderson, associate vice president and site leader of the MetLife Auto & Home Freeport office. “MetLife Auto & Home is fortunate to have a team of associates that is passionate and committed to helping Freeport thrive. By utilizing this tool, our employees can easily identify opportunities to match their individual skills to assist and volunteer with local nonprofit agencies.” 

MetLife Auto & Home reopened its Freeport office in December 2017. In the first few months, more than 100 team members were hired, exceeding the initial plan of adding 150 jobs over two years, bringing today’s total to more than 300 employees. The company expects to add nearly 100 additional jobs by 2019.

NonProfitTHRIVE offers its services for free to nonprofits and volunteers. Community-minded people can open accounts, enter preferences for the causes they want to help and receive alerts on their mobile phones when matching opportunities are available. Nonprofits can post opportunities and NonProfitTHRIVE streamlines the volunteer screening process.
