Matthew Jaster, the senior editor of Gear Technology Magazine, did an exhaustive study of Machine Tool Builders‘ work with Nuttall Gear of Niagara Falls. Nuttall Gear is a signficant company in the industry. Founded in 1887, Nuttall developed single helical gears, a major innovation in gear making. Nuttall recognized it needed to upgrade its equipment, but it didn’t have the budget to buy all new machines. Instead, Nuttall launched an aggressive rebuilding program with MTB.
