Alex spent 17 years at the Rockford (IL) Register Star as a reporter and the last 12 as the business editor. He researched and wrote about industries ranging from manufacturing, real estate and logistics to web development and retail. He gained valuable knowledge from thousands of interviews, including then Senator Barack Obama, on the issues entrepreneurs face from startup to multi-million dollar firms. He developed a regional network of connections in the business, nonprofit and governmental sectors. Alex was part of the Thinker team from 2016 - 2019 as communications manager before moving to be full time with Alex Gary Communications.
